Yes, because actors, news anchors, and other public speakers never use notes, cues or prompts. Really, why do you think Obama should be held to a higher standard of public performance than the rest of the world?
Obama is a true orator. He's given speeches that have already gone down in history among the (low end of) great speeches. He's in the company of Lincoln and Cicero, King and Churchill; though he might be toward the bottom of the heap.
That said, I think he's not significantly more virtuous than any other high profile politician. He's set to make as many mistakes as McCain might make. But that's one of the most endemic, systematic problems with our government: The experts don't make the descisions; rather, the politicians pander to the lowest common denominator.
I love the USA but, like every other country, we've got a lot of stuff so f---ing wrong.
You are so right. Let's examine how intelligent and on target our current president has been in the past.

Now that show's some class.
I think you should read the bottom of the screen from the clip you present. It says "Town Hall Meeting". That means he is taking questions off the cuff. His answer is on the go and not rehearsed - obviously.
I think if you try to make a political point you should probably examine some facts. At least Obama says there is some need for kids having health care. I think you care about your kids, Do they have health care? What would happen if your husband who provides for you lost his job. How would you pay for your health care? Did you know there are millions of families with kids that do not have money to pay for health care? What about them? Maybe you should look at the issues and evaluate which candidate really has a viewpoint that supports people like you, or gasp, who you could be with a twist of fate.

It is sad... but sounds to me like he is another G.W. Bush headed for the White House who can't speak worth a da*n.
